Question 1

How long do horse shelters last?

Accepted Answer

With proper care and maintenance, a well-built horse shelter can last 20 years or more. Our shelters are built using solid pine lumber, metal roofing, and heavy timber framing designed to handle Ontario weather conditions.

Question 2

How much space do I need for delivery?

Accepted Answer

We deliver our shelters using a 22-foot flatbed trailer and pickup truck. We typically require at least 14 feet of width and 14 feet of height clearance, along with enough space for the truck to maneuver. Please ensure tree branches are trimmed and obstacles removed. For tighter spaces, we can also use a mule delivery system. We review access requirements with you before delivery. See Delivery Video.

Question 3

Which direction should my horse shelter face?

Accepted Answer

Most horse shelters in Ontario are positioned with the open side facing away from prevailing winds, typically southeast, to give horses maximum protection from winter winds and driving rain. We're happy to talk through orientation and placement based on your property when planning delivery.

Question 4

What makes your horse shelters different?

Accepted Answer

Built solid with 4x4" main framing and 1" thick walls for real weather protection, not a lightweight 2x4 build. Sits on pressure-treated skids so you can reposition it as needed. Features a half kick wall for added durability where horses lean or kick, and a metal roof built to handle Ontario's toughest conditions. Delivered turnkey, with no special pad or foundation required.

Question 5

How long does it take to receive my horse shelter?

Accepted Answer

Lead times typically run 4-6 weeks during our busier spring and summer season, though this can vary depending on current order volume. We'll give you an estimated timeline when you request your quote, and keep you updated if anything changes along the way.

Question 6

What areas do you deliver horse shelters to?

Accepted Answer
