Bloomington Sheds services many cities and towns throughout Central Ontario and cottage country, including areas such as Orillia, Barrie, Innisfil, Beaverton, Port Perry, Midland, Tiny Township, Muskoka, Bracebridge, Haliburton, the Kawarthas, Peterborough, Lindsay, Caledon, and surrounding regions. We regularly deliver sheds across Ontario, and if you're unsure whether we service your location, feel free to contact us and we'll be happy to confirm delivery availability.

In Ontario, sheds under approximately 15 square metres (approximately 161 square feet) do not require a building permit, but larger sheds may require approval. Regulations can vary by municipality, so we always recommend checking with your local building department before installing a shed.

With proper care and maintenance, a well-built wooden shed can last 20 years or more. Our sheds are built using solid pine lumber, metal roofing, and heavy timber framing designed to handle Ontario weather conditions.

Yes, you can paint or stain your shed. Because your shed is freshly built, we recommend waiting about one week after delivery to allow moisture in the wood to escape before applying paint or stain. Keeping the windows open for airflow during the first few days will help the drying process.

We deliver our sheds using a 22-foot flatbed trailer and pickup truck. We typically require at least 14 feet of width and 14 feet of height clearance, along with enough space for the truck to maneuver. Please ensure tree branches are trimmed and obstacles removed. For tighter spaces, we can also use a mule delivery system. We review access requirements with you before delivery. See Delivery Video.

Yes. Our standard sheds include a man door, double barn doors, two windows, a steel roof, and solid pine flooring. You can also customize your shed with additional windows, different door placement, roof styles, roof colours, and other options.

We specialize in sheds, lean to sheds, bunkies, chicken coops, horse shelters, cedar saunas, porch sheds, greenhouses, and more.

Typically, every season, we have a large inventory ready to go and delivery lead time is about 1-2 weeks. If your shed requires to be built from scratch, lead times vary depending on the time of year.

You do not need any special base or concrete pad. In fact we recommend against a concrete pad. Our sheds are built on 2-6" x 6" pressure treated posts, keeping your shed off the ground and makes for easy levelling. If your ground is not level, you may lay down some clear stone.

We do offer kits in certain sizes (typically up to 8x12) that can be dropped off on a driveway, these kits come with the walls and floor preassembled, but please note that assembly of these kits does require a skill set and plenty of help as the parts are very heavy.

Our sheds are a timberframe build, using 4" x 4" framing, unlike other sheds that use 2" x 4" framing, making our structure extremely durable. We do not use any plywood, our floors are solid tongue and groove pine. Roof is metal which will outlast asphalt shingles, and all our walls are 1" thick pine board and batten.

Although we can't guarantee little critters won't get in, we take every precaution to make sure the shed is built tight, with enclosed soffits, we even add styrofoam in the ripples of the metal roof helping to prevent entry.

We have cut out the middleman and sell direct to consumer.

Yes, sheds can be moved. We build our sheds on sleds with chains permanently affixed to them, so they can easily be moved around your property with the right pickup truck or tractor. If you move to another property, your shed can also be relocated.

Our sheds are not insulated as standard. We do offer floor insulation, which needs to be done at time of build since it can't be added afterward. Most clients handle wall and ceiling insulation themselves after completing their rough-in for electrical and any other needs.
