Benefits of Pine Sheds

Wood sheds are a popular choice for outdoor storage solutions, there are several reasons why wood sheds may be a better option than steel sheds for some people.

  1. Aesthetics: Wood sheds offer a natural and rustic appearance that can blend well with outdoor environments. The natural warmth and beauty of wood can add value and enhance the overall look of your yard. Steel sheds may look industrial and out of place in some settings.

  2. Customization: Wood sheds offer greater flexibility in terms of customization. They can be easily modified or personalized with a variety of finishes, colors, and accessories. Steel sheds may come in standard sizes and shapes, limiting customization options.

  3. Eco-Friendly: Wood is a renewable resource and has a lower carbon footprint than steel. The production and transportation of steel require a lot of energy, while wood sheds are typically made from locally sourced materials.

  4. Durability: Wood sheds are known for their durability and strength. They can withstand harsh weather conditions, such as heavy snow, rain, and wind. Wood sheds also have a natural resistance to pests and insects, which can be a problem with steel sheds.

  5. Maintenance: Wood sheds require minimal maintenance and can last for decades with proper care. They can be easily repaired if necessary. Steel sheds may require regular painting or coating to prevent rust and corrosion.

  6. Affordability: Wood sheds are generally more affordable than steel sheds, especially for larger sizes. They require less expensive equipment to install. Steel sheds may require professional installation and heavy equipment, which can add to the overall cost.

Overall, wood sheds offer a unique and practical solution for outdoor storage needs. They are a versatile and eco-friendly option that can add value and aesthetic appeal to any property.

FAQ

Below are some generally asked questions, if you don't see the answer to you're question, feel free to reach out to us and we typically respond within the same day.

Can I paint or stain my shed?

  • Yes, you can paint or stain your new shed, but it is recommended to wait a few weeks after delivery to allow the moisture to escape as your new shed is freshly built. When you receive delivery, we recommend to leave a window open to allow for air flow to help the drying process.

How much space do I need for delivery?

  • We deliver our products on a 22’ flatbed trailer with pickup truck, so we require approximately 14’ in width, and plenty of space around your desired location for our truck to maneuver and do a 3 point turn so the driver can back into your shed drop location. Prior to ordering, we will discuss with you the required space in more detail.

Can sheds be customized?

  • Yes, although our sheds come dressed up with everything you need, man door, double barn door, 2 windows, steel roof, solid pine flooring, you can add extra windows, larger windows, reposition door placement, change roof style, roof colour and more.

What other products do you make?

  • We specialize in shed building, but also offer, Lean to sheds, bunkies, Porch Sheds and cabins, cedar muskoka chairs, cedar picnic tables, outdoor furniture.

How long does it take to get my shed?

  • Typically, every season, we have a large inventory ready to go and delivery lead time is about 1-2 weeks. If your shed requires to be built from scratch, lead times vary depending on the time of year.

What kind of base do I need for my Shed?

  • You do not need any special base or concrete pad. In fact we recommend against a concrete pad. Our sheds are built on 2-6” x 6” pressure treated posts, keeping your shed off the ground and makes for easy levelling. If your ground is not level, you may lay down some stone.

My property is too small, do you sell kits?

  • We do offer kits in certain sizes (typically up to 8x12) that can be dropped off on a driveway, these kits come with the walls and floor preassembled, but please note that assembly of these kits does require a skill set and plenty of help as the parts are very heavy.

How do you build and what makes your shed different?

  • Our sheds are a timber frame build, using 4” x 4” framing, unlike other sheds that use 2” x 4” framing, making our structure extremely durable. We do not use any plywood, our floors are solid tongue and groove pine. Roof is metal which will outlast asphalt shingles, and all our builds are pine board and batten.

Can Animals get into my shed?

  • Although we can’t guarantee little critters won’t get in, we take every precaution to make sure the shed is built tight, we even add styrofoam in the ripples of the metal roof helping to prevent entry.

What makes your pricing competitive?

  • We have cut out the middleman and sell direct to consumer.

Do you have a showroom?

  • We do have display sheds to view located in Holland Landing, all viewings are appointment only.
